GoI to scrap off Public Enterprises Selection Board ?

The whispers of scrapping off Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) have gathered pace in the corridors of power. The Government of India is expected to endow the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) with the responsibility to pick up Board Members in Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) through paper scrutiny within organizations by either advertising the post or forming search-cum-selection committee. The speculation is rife as the Government has deferred the appointment of new Chairman and other two Board Members.
