The Government of India is yet to announce the appointments of General Managers in Railways. Six posts of GMs are lying vacant. The vacancies of two posts: GM, Rail Wheel Factory (Bangalore) and GM, Southern Railway arose on April 1, 2019, while three GM posts - Eastern Railway (Kolkata), South East Central (Bilaspur) and Rail Coach Factory (Kapurthala) - fell vacant on May 1, 2019.
