Govt names MP Chief Secretary Anurag Jain as CEO of NITI Aayog

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of senior IAS officer and Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh, Anurag Jain (MP: 1989 batch) as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NITI Aayog.

The appointment will take effect from the date Jain assumes charge of the post. He will serve for period of two years or until further orders. This includes his approved tenure of extension in service, and he will continue on the same terms and conditions as were applicable to his predecessor.

The move is seen as a key leadership transition at the government’s premier policy think tank.
