In order to bring more objectivity, transparency and fairness in Promotion of Indian Army officers and stability in higher ranks, the Central Government has already reviewed the promotion policy for the ranks of Major General and Lieutenant General in consultation with Army Headquarters. The Policy has been approved by the Government in December, 2017.
