Has Rs 100 cr been paid to MNC IT firm as interest by IT Dept for undue delay in refund?

If sources are to be believed more than 100 crores have been paid as interest by the income tax department to a big MNC IT firm because of non-matching of many TDS leading to undue delay in refund. Sources further said, this amount was not paid online but through paper cheque to avoid easy detection
