High Courts facing shortage of 402 Judges

As many as 25 High Courts were working with merely 696 Judges as compared to the sanctioned strength of 1098 Judges on December 1, 2021, according the figures released by the Ministry of Law and Justice. While there were 605 Permanent Judges working against the sanctioned strength of 829 judges, there were only 91 Additional Judges working as compared to the sanctioned strength of 269 judges.
