Highly violent-prone district Palamu sees first woman Police chief in decades

Palamu is one of the worst naxal affected areas of Jharkhand and the decades old district has never seen a woman as the chief of Police force. But now Reeshma Ramesan is the first lady SP of the district. The district has been considered as highly violence-prone area. The Government has not posted any woman IPS here hitherto. The 2017 batch Jharkhand cadre IPS officer, Reeshma Ramesan has taken over the charge recently.
