HPC date to select CBI Chief yet to be decided

Date of High Power Committee (HPC) to select new Director, CBI has not been finalized. Meeting was inconclusive on January 24 this month.  It is said that the Committee would not agree on the name of Gujarat DGP Shivanand Jha and with this the return of Rakesh Asthana as DGP of Gujarat would also not materialise.Now one can only wait and watch. Meanwhile  other sources said that high Power Committee (HPC) is likely to meet to decide the fate of shortlisted candidates for the post of Director, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on January 30, 2019.
