IAS Bharat Yadav, MD MPRDC Powering a New Era of Highways, Connectivity, and Sustainability in MP

MPRDC has rolled out a series of greenfield highway projects that will reshape travel across the state. Among the flagship works is the Ujjain-Jaora Greenfield Highway, a 98.7 km, four-lane corridor.Similarly, the Indore-Ujjain Greenfield Highway, a 48 km stretch,will cut travel time between two of Madhya Pradesh’s busiest cities.

Bharat Yadav a 2008-batch IAS officer is spearheading a major transformation of Madhya Pradesh’s road network as the Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation (MPRDC). Known for his result-oriented approach and ability to successfully push infrastructure projects from planning to execution, Yadav is leading some of the state’s most ambitious highway developments designed to boost connectivity, safety and economic growth.

Another standout achievement is the 9.1 km Raisen-Rahatgarh elevated road,over a stretch submerged in the backwaters of the Dam. This elevated bridge surrounded by water and lush greenery, not only ensures smooth connectivity but is also expected to become a weekend attraction for nature lovers who wish to experience the pleasure of driving through a scenic water-bound corridor. Apart from this, In Bhopal the state's capital, keeping in view the ever-increasing traffic movement and future requirements, MPRDC is planning many ambitious projects to further strengthen the city’s road infrastructure. 

Yadav is also championing cutting-edge management tools such as the Road Asset Management System (RAMS) and an Integrated Project Management System (IPMS). These GIS-based platforms enable real-time monitoring of road conditions and project progress, ensuring transparency and efficiency. Sustainability is central to his vision, with initiatives like Ultra High Performance Concrete technologies and zero-carbon construction methods gaining traction.

Through these projects MPRDC is becoming  a model for technology-driven, sustainable infrastructure development, ensuring that Madhya Pradesh’s roads match the pace of its economic aspirations.
