At least six officers of 1980 batch of various cadres are on key positions after retirement from Indian Administrative Service (IAS). Shaktikanta Das is holding a key post of Governor of Reserve Bank of India after retirement on May 31, 2017, while Sunil Arora, who retired from service on 30 April 2016, is Chief Election Commissioner of India and Amitabh Kant was re-employed as CEO of NITI Aayog. Similarly, Ashok Lavasa, who retired from the service, was appointed as Election Commissioner of India and Antony de Sa, who served as Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh, is working as Chairman, Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) in Madhya Pradesh. Besides, Swadheen Kashtriya is enjoying the post of Commissioner, Right to Service Act in Maharashtra.
