IAS Ravindra instills new life to Bareilly’s govt schools with ‘Zariya’

In a pioneering step towards educational reform, Project Zariya has successfully introduced smart classroom facilities in all 2,546 government schools across the district. Brainchild of District Magistrate IAS Ravindra Kumar, Project Zariya has enabled Bareilly to become the first district in Uttar Pradesh to provide access to smart classrooms in all government schools. No wonder, Project Zariya marks a significant leap in bridging the digital divide and ensuring quality education for every child.

Launched with the vision of making modern learning accessible, the initiative has transformed traditional classrooms into interactive digital spaces. Each school is now well-equipped with smartboards, projectors, and internet connectivity, empowering teachers to enhance engagement and improve learning outcomes.

IAS officer Kumar highlighted the project’s broader impact, emphasising the need for equal educational opportunities. “Education is the foundation of a brighter future. With Project Zariya, we aim to ensure that every child, regardless of their socioeconomic background, has access to quality resources and an environment conducive to learning,” says he.

Implementing smart classrooms at such a scale came with challenges, from logistical hurdles to training educators in digital teaching methods. However, through strategic planning and collaboration, these obstacles were addressed and parents and students welcomed the initiative with enthusiasm.

Educational experts view Project Zariya as a blueprint for other districts in Uttar Pradesh and beyond. The ultimate goal of Project Zariya is to cultivate a culture of innovation and lifelong learning.
