IATO annual convention opens in Visakhapatnam, AP tour operators urged to avail benefits UPDATED

Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh has welcomed tourism industry leaders, members of the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO), and travel stakeholders to Visakhapatnam ahead of the 41st IATO Annual Convention, which will be held from September 10 to 12 at Novotel, Visakhapatnam. The event is expected to provide a major platform for strengthening industry partnerships, promoting tourism, and showcasing the State's diverse attractions.

Addressing the media, Andhra Pradesh Tourism described the Convention as a convergence of India's tourism leadership, bringing together leading tour operators, destination experts, travel professionals, and tourism stakeholders from across the country. The gathering is expected to facilitate networking, business collaborations, destination marketing, and knowledge exchange.

The State highlighted its vast tourism potential, featuring renowned spiritual destinations such as Tirupati, Srisailam, the Pancharama Kshetras, and Ahobilam, alongside natural attractions including Araku Valley, the Eastern Ghats' tribal regions, and Gandikota. Rich cultural heritage, handicrafts, an extensive coastline, and authentic local experiences further position Andhra Pradesh as a multi-dimensional tourism destination.

Reaffirming its commitment to tourism-led economic growth, AP Tourism emphasized ongoing investments in destination development, infrastructure, connectivity, and industry partnerships. It noted that tour operators play a crucial role in converting tourism assets into market-ready experiences.

The State also made a special appeal to AP-based tour operators and travel entrepreneurs to participate in the Convention by availing exclusive benefits announced by IATO. The registration fee has been reduced from Rs 8,000 to Rs 3,000 for eligible operators, while the one-time IATO admission fee of Rs 10,000 plus GST has been waived until December 31, 2026.

Spot registrations will be available at the venue from September 10, enabling more industry stakeholders to join India's premier tourism convention and explore new business opportunities, partnerships, and national and international market access.
