IG removed in TN

The EC has removed S Murugan, IG, Southern Range, Madurai and asked the Tamil Nadu govt to send a fresh panel of IPS officers, for the appointment of new IG. According to information on Special Observer's report the Commission has ordered the transfers of nine other police officers to their present place of postings to attach them at DGP' office. These are DSPs and ACPs ranke officers. The EC has further ordered the state govt not to assign these officers to any election related duty.
