Insiders say that after Commerce Secy met US Dy Trade representative, not much room for trade agreement left

Commerce Secretary Rajesh Agrawal met U.S. Deputy Trade Representative Rick Switzer in New Delhi to discuss the full spectrum of India–U.S. trade and economic relations, Commerce Ministry sources said. Both sides reviewed progress in ongoing negotiations toward a bilateral trade arrangement (BTA), aimed at addressing pending issues and deepening economic cooperation. Officials familiar with the discussions indicated that with most technical differences already ironed out, there is now very limited room left for incremental change. The focus, they said, has shifted toward fine-tuning the final contours of the pact and sequencing its implementation. Both New Delhi and Washington are understood to be keen on concluding the process soon, as the proposed BTA is expected to serve as a framework for expanding trade in sectors like digital services, semiconductors, and clean energy. A formal announcement, sources added, could be expected in the coming weeks as talks reach their final stage.
