IPS officer Varun Kapoor turns up cyber expert in MP

A 1991 batch IPS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre, Varun Kumar Kapoor has emerged as an expert on cyber crimes. He has created a history while working in the field of cyber security for the past six years, probably longer than any other police officer in India. Not only this, he has also organized over 125 cyber crime/security/high tech training courses for police officers and trained over 5000 police officers of SI-SP rank of 22 different state police forces, 6 different central para military forces and the Indian Army. This training is being conducted at PRTS Indore. In addition, he himself conducts three hour long awareness workshops for the citizens all over the country. In this, he has conducted till date 257 workshops in 20 states and UT's of India and made over 60,000 citizens aware. This includes school & college students; senior citizens; housewives; professionals; doctors; engineers; lawyers; scientists; officers; journalists and what have you. He also develops free of cost security Apps for the public (like BESM@RT etc) and give free of cost cyber security services to the members of the public. He also conducts research in the field of cyber security and my work has been published in leading national and international journals. Kapoor also writes regular weekly columns in leading Hindi and English dailies of MP, Punjab, UP, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Manipur, Nagaland etc. He is Adviser on the board of leading cyber security organizations like e-Raksha Research Center of Gujarat Technological University; Cyber Peace Foundation of Delhi; Vaishav University Indore; Oriental University Indore, Acroplois Institute Indore etc.
