ITDC organises capacity building programme on cyber security

New Delhi: India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), a Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, organised a Capacity Building Programme on Cyber Security at Hotel Samrat, New Delhi, to strengthen cyber security awareness, enhance digital competencies, and promote a culture of cyber resilience among employees. The initiative aligns with the Government of India's Cyber Surakshit Bharat programme and aims to encourage secure governance practices across the organisation.

The workshop was led by Prof. Amit Dubey, an IIT alumnus, nationally recognised cyber security expert, cyber-crime investigator, and acclaimed author. Through an engaging and interactive session, he shared practical insights on emerging cyber threats, cyber hygiene, data protection, cyber fraud prevention, and strategies for strengthening organisational cyber resilience. Participants also explored real-time case studies, practical scenarios, and best practices for ensuring digital security against evolving cyber risks.

The programme was attended by ITDC Directors, Division Heads, and employees from various divisions. Addressing the gathering, Mrs Mugdha Sinha, IAS, Managing Director, ITDC, said that the Prime Minister's vision of a digitally empowered India places cyber security at the core of national security. She emphasised that cyber security is a shared responsibility requiring awareness, vigilance, and collective commitment, adding that ITDC remains committed to building a cyber-aware and digitally resilient workforce.

Prof. Dubey highlighted that technology alone cannot secure organisations, as informed and responsible digital behaviour by every individual is equally essential. He stressed that cultivating a culture of awareness, vigilance, and accountability enables employees to become the first line of defence against cyber threats. The programme concluded by encouraging participants to adopt safe digital practices and contribute to a secure and resilient organisational ecosystem.
