India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) Ltd, the public sector undertaking under the aegis of Ministry of Tourism (Govt. of India) and Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC), in an attempt to further enhance skilled youth in the hospitality sector, signed an MoU, on 12th November, 2020, for setting-up a ‘Centre of Excellence’ in the state. The MOU was signed digitally by G. Kamala Vardhana Rao, C&MD, ITDC and Dr. Arja Srikanth, IRTS, Special Secretary to Govt. of AP, MD&CEO, APSSDC in the presence of other senior officials from ITDC & APSSDC. Speaking at the MOU signing,G Kamala Vardhana Rao, C&MD, ITDC said, “This is a great opportunity for ITDC. Hospitality industry has a growing demand for skilled and trained professionals and the MoU with APSSDC is a step in the same direction. Through this MoU our aim is to provide training and knowledge through courses of varying duration to build competencies to match the global standards. Employability is a huge challenge posed by the Covid crisis and ITDC will provide the best of curriculum and support to the state to create a skilled young workforce.”
