J N Port observes ‘Swachhta Pakhwada’

J N Port is observing ‘Swachhta Hi Sewa Pakhwada’ from September 15 to September 30, 2019.  The Pakhwada commenced with the administration of Swachhta pledge by Sanjay Sethi, IAS, Chairman, JNPT to all JNPT officials. Then onwards, each date of the ‘Pakhwada’ was associated with a particular activity pertaining to cleanliness.  Detailed guidelines for the ‘Pakhwada’ were formulated and circulated to each department of JNPT and all departments observed the ‘Pakhwada’ in the most effective manner including the School Children. Series of activities like upkeep and cleaning of office premise, carrying out inspection and repair work of all sanitary facilities in office premises, weeding out of old files, disposal of old unused furniture and electrical and electronic items, cleaning of Port roads with painting of road signs, beautification & cleaning of Parks , Township area have been undertaken under the Swachhata Pakhvada. Special Cleanliness drive was organised at Wharf, Main Stores, Workshop, Administration Building, public places like Hospital, Multipurpose Hall, Officers Club, Staff Club, Guest house, Training Centre, Port Operation Centre and Port Users Building. Various competitions like essay, slogan writing, painting and elocution were organized on “Swachhta theme” for the JNPT school children. A cycle rally was flagged off by Sanjay Sethi, IAS, Chairman, JNPT organised by the school children for spreading cleanliness awareness among the residents of JNPT township. Various posters, banners, placards on cleanliness message were designed and placed at strategic locations and pamphlets distributed to the employees, visitors, school children, explaining them importance of keeping port premises clean and hygienic and how to reduce the usage of plastic in the daily life.
