Jharkhand State IC becomes defunct

Jharkhand State Information Commission has been rendered defunct since May 2020 after the lone information commissioner retired. No information commissioner or chief has been appointed since then. This was revealed during the hearing of public interest litigation (PIL) before the Supreme Court concerning 50 per cent of posts lying vacant in the Central Information Commission and various state commissions.
