Justice DY Chandrachud will take over as the 50th Chief Justice of India (CJI) when Justice UU Lalit demits office as Supreme Court Chief Justice on November 8, 2022. In his tenure as the CJI, the Collegium headed by Justice Chandrachud will initially comprise Justices SK Kaul, AS Nazeer, KM Joseph, and MR Shah. Since Justice Chandrachud will have one of the longest tenures as CJI, the Collegium headed by him will undergo a number of changes during his tenure.
