The retirement of Justice Kurian Joseph on November 29 has caused three vacancies of Judges in the Supreme Court. The vacancy status in the Supreme Court was six on October 1, 2018. Later on November 1, four Judges viz. Justice Hemant Gupta, Justice Ajay Rastogi, Justice Mukeshkumar Rasikbhai Shah and Justice Ramayyagari Subhash Reddy were appointed as SC judges bringing down the number of vacancies to two but now with retirement of Justice Joseph, total number vacancies of Judges in the SC has reached three.
