Justice UU Lalit to take over as 49th CJI in August 2022
JUDICIARY (2) Justice UU Lalit will take over as the 49th Chief Justice of India when current CJI Justice NV Ramana demits office on August 26, 2022. Justice Lalit will serve as CJI for a very short period – 73 days – before retiring in November 2022.
