The incumbent DG Coast Guard Rajendra Kumar is retiring on June 30, 2019.Additional Director General, Indian Coast Guard, Krishnaswamy Natarajan who is Coast Guard Commander, Western Seaboard is in the race for post of Director General (DG), Indian Coast Guard.He was elevated to the Flag rank in 2009. The Flag officer had spearheaded the Staff Division of Policy and Plans at the Coast Guard Headquarters as the Deputy Director General (Policy & Plans) till April 2014.
