The Kerala IAS officers’ Association has submitted a memorandum in the name of Secretary, Personnel, Department of Personnel and Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pension and requested to reconsider New Pension Scheme (NPS). The memorandum, sent by the President Dr B Ashok, Secretary MG Rajamanickam and the Treasurer Harlkishore said ‘we are worried as a body to witness the pain in the young officers, of 2004 batch and onwards, as they are suffering from the uncertainties of superannuated life in absence of defined pension’. The association said ‘we have deliberated on the issue time and again and have come with the conclusion that the DoPT should reconsider the whole issue, particularly in light of serious legal lacunae the New Pension System is vulnerable to.
