Kerala IAS officers unhappy over frequent transfers, write to Chief Minister

Resentment is mounting among the bureaucrats in Kerala over Frequent transfers from one department to another. The IAS officers have written a letter to the Chief Minister, terming it as gross violation of provisions of the All India service (AIS) rules. At least 30 officers have been shunted out within months of their deployment. Ironically, one IAS officer was shifted twice in a span of 30 days. The tendency will adversely affect the functioning of the government, said the letter written by IAS Association. While seeking a solution, the IAS body has given some recommendations. The body has asserted that the appointment and transfer of the officers should be based on the recommendation of the State Civil Service Board.
