Kerala to be renamed Keralam!

The Union Cabinet has approved the proposal to officially change the name of the state from “Kerala” to “Keralam.” The decision follows a long‑pending request from the state government to align the English name with its traditional Malayalam pronunciation, “Keralam.” The move comes after a formal resolution passed by the Kerala Legislative Assembly and clearance from the Ministry of Home Affairs, which consulted with other central departments and agencies before forwarding it to the Cabinet.
