LIC dedicates four \'Jal Shav Wahini in Varanasi

Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) with the joint effort of SM Foundation handed over four 'Jal Shav Wahini' (water hearses) to NDRF. These water hearses will ferry dead bodies to 'Manikarnika Ghat' to perform last rites in Varanasi. Prime Minister, Narendra Modi launched this free service at Trade Facilitation Centre, Varanasi. On this occasion, LIC MD, Hemant Bhargava; officers of NDRF; Executive Director CC, S N Bhattacharya; Regional Manager, N P Chawala, Regional Manager, C C Sanjay Sharma and NFIFWI General Secretary, Vivek Singh were present.
