Lt Cdr. Lahiri passes away

Lt. Cdr. Ranjit Lahiri, IN (Retd.), former Chairman and Managing Director of Hooghly Dock and Port Engineers Ltd., a 200 year old shipyard in Howrah, latterly a Government of India enterprise, passed away suddenly in Siliguri at the age of 64. He was a specialist, with decades of extensive experience, in the maintenance and operations of India’s maritime assets. He was commissioned in 1980 in the Indian Navy, and had numerous posting with the Indian Navy and with Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Ltd.
