Maharashtra Government has reinstated suspended IPS officer Saurabh Tripathi. He was suspended in the connection of an extortion case 15 months ago. Tripathi was the deputy commissioner of police (DCP) in Mumbai when his name was added to an FIR on March 22, 2022. Later, the Home department has suspended him. The state’s Suspension Review Committee, headed by chief secretary Manoj Saunik, met last week and decided to revoke Tripathi’s suspension. He is likely to get a non-executive posting now.
