Major administrative reshuffle in Punjab Police

In a significant administrative realignment, the Department of Home Affairs, Government of Punjab, issued orders on August 16, 2026, transferring 112 Punjab Police Service (PPS) officers with immediate effect. Executed purely on administrative grounds, the reshuffle aims to streamline operations and enhance law enforcement efficiency across the state.

The structural changes affect multiple key districts, including Amritsar, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Patiala, Bathinda, and Mohali. Under the new directive, several officers have been assigned pivotal leadership responsibilities, stepping into roles such as Superintendent of Police (SP), Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), and Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP).
