Monday will be a remarkable day for the Northeast Frontier Railway zone. The CPRO of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) Savyasachi Dey informed that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the first Vande Bharat train of Northeast, to run between Guwahati and New Jalpaiguri. The Railway has electrified and commissioned Dudhnai-Mendipathar (22.82 track km) single line section and Abhayapuri-Pancharatna (34.59 track km) double line section. The sections will be opened formally following which Meghalaya will get its first Electric train. Also, a DEMU/MEMU car shed will be inaugurated. The Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and the Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will also participate.
