Merger of eight Railway services in progress

The merger of eight prominent Railway Services into Indian Railway Management Services (IRMS) is said to be in progress in Government of India. The services of eight different cadres: Indian Railway Traffic Service, Indian Railway Service of Engineer (Civil), Indian Railway Accounts Service, Indian Railway service of Signal Engineers, Indian Railway service of Electrical Engineers, Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers, Indian Railway Stores Service, Indian Railway Personnel Service are to be merged into one.
