More IT returns filed this year than last year

The Income Tax (I-T) Department has said that this year over one crore ITRs have been filed as of June 26, compared to the one crore ITRs filed till July 8 in the preceding year. With the last date for filing annual returns drawing close, the I-T Department informed the 1 crore milestone was achieved 12 days early this year compared to corresponding period in the previous year.
