Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) and Mahagenco signed an 'Memorandum of Understanding' for the use of the Water of Bhanegaon Mine today (Sunday March 25, 2018). Under this agreement, Mahagenco will get free of charge water from WCL Nagpur area Bhanegaon Mine for Khaperkhedra Thermal Power Plant. Function was held at Minister's Nagpur residence 'Ramgiri' on March 25, 2018. This vital project was taken up under the guidance of Hon. Devendra Fadnvis, Chief Minister and special initiative by Hon. Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Energy Minister & Guardian Minister Nagpur. Rajiv Ranjan Mishra, Chairman-cum-Managing Director WCL was prominently present on this occasion. Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Director (Personnel) WCL and Mr. Vikas Jaidev, Director (Projects) Mahagenco, signed on MoU. On behalf of WCL, Director(Finance) S M Chaudhary, Director Technical (Projects &Planning) T N Jha, General Manager(Nagpur Area) D M Gokhale, General Manager (Business Development), Anurag Arora and on behalf of Mahagenco Mr. Pradeep Shingade, Executive Director (Projects), Chief Engineers Anant Devtare, Rajesh Patil, Pramod Naphade, Deputy Chief Engineer Vinod Kargaonkar,Supdtg Engineer Milind Ramteke were prominently present on the occasion. It is worth mentioning that at present, Mahagenco's Khaperkheda Thermal Power Plant is getting 37MM cube Water annually from Pench Project of VIdarbha Irrigation Developement Corporation. With the introduction of this Bhanegaon Mine water, Khaperkheda will receive 10.76 MM cube water anually. This will make big water saving for irrigation of farm land as well as Nagpur city drinking water demand. This is bounty of nature that Kamptee series has good water level, so this could be possible for both the organizations.
