The Government of India has reviewed the IPS cadre with an increasing number of 14 posts from 305 to 319. As per DoPT Gazette, five posts will be for DGPs while 16 posts are for Additional DGPs and 21 for IGs. Besides, two posts have been allocated for Police Commissioners, Indore and Bhopal; 26 posts for DIGs; 49 posts for SPs; 21 posts of Commandant; one post for AIG-SB General, PHQ; one for Commandant 35th Bt SAF, Mandla; one for SSP, Radio, Bhopal; three posts of SP, Rail Indore, Jabalpur and Bhopal; each one for AIG, Admn PHQ, Bhopal; AIG, CID, PHQ, Bhopal; SP, Training College Indore; Commandant Hawk Force; one post for Niwari district SP; one for Commandant 36th SAF, Balaghat; one for AIG, IPTA, Bhauri; 12 posts for Deputy Police Commissioners. As many as 69 posts for central deputation; 43 posts for State deputation; six for training; 28 for leave reserve; 97 posts will be filled through promotion.
