MP RERA disposes of 1000 cases

RERA Madhya Pradesh passed orders in its one-thousandth case on September 18. It may be recalled that the RERA Act came into force in May last year. Since then about two thousand complaints have been registered in MP. Apart from Bhopal, MP RERA has circuit benches in Indore, Gwalior and Jabalpur where the Chairman and Members regularly hear cases on tour.

Out of the thousand cases disposed of till September 18, 860 went in favour of the allotees. Cases include those in which monetary relief was not claimed, but the complaints related to provision of promised amenities, defects in workmanship or refusal of possession. In 645 cases monetary compensation was awarded. Of these 100 cases were settled through compromise under the aegis of RERA. With this Madhya Pradesh becomes one of the foremost states in disposal and adjudicating of claims under RERA. Anthony de sa is the Chairman.
