It is surprising that the State of MP in which elections are due barely after six months  is under immense Pressure from Government at Centre  to sacrifice its right in Ken-Betwa  water sharing and give more water to UP. MP is said to be loosing 6400 ha of national Tiger Reserve and as many as 40 villages under submergence will also have to provide for all resettlement benefits and compensatory afforestation land in MP itself to benefit UP. Claim of MP for 700 MCM of water for 30000 ha irrigation in Bundelkhand's drought prone area has also been rejected by  MOWR. Is MP going into election or UP is the question making rounds in the corridors of power. sacrificing rights of MP in Bundelkhand may severely affect the chances of BJP in MP.
