MPs or MLAs cannot be Independent Directors : RBI

The Reserve Bank of India has stated that a candidate who is to be chosen as Independent Director in banks and companies should not be holding the position of a Member of Parliament or State Legislature or municipal corporation or municipality or other local bodies.
