NDA Government has given priority to all round development of North-East States.  For the first time, a roster has been prepared for touring of Union Ministers to each of the North Eastern States ensuring presence of at least one Minister in the region every fortnight which increased the efficient and effective monitoring of projects of all departments in the North Eastern Region. Plenary meeting of the North Eastern Council (NEC) at Shillong was personally attended by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi after a gap of more than 40 years when it was attended by the then Prime Minister Morarji Desai.
