NHAI Chairman to be a Political Person instead of IAS?

The Government of India is expected to transform the post of Chairman in National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) from bureaucratic to political. The Chairman will  reportedly now be a political person instead of a bureaucrat. The political Chairman will act as a watchdog in the organization. If this proposal is not approved, a senior IAS officer may be considered for the post of Chairman.
