NLC CMD Dr Acharya honoured with Apex India CSR Icon of Year 2017 Award

NLCIL has won  the Apex India  CSR Excellence Award  for its  outstanding Achievement in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at   the Apex India Excellence Awards  2017  presentation ceremony held in  New Delhi , on 29th  May 2018,   organized  by  Apex India Foundation,  a reputed  non - profit organization .  Also, Dr S K Acharya, CMD,NLCIL has been honoured with “The Apex India CSR Icon of the  Year 2017”  Award  in recognition of  his decades of dedication, innovation, careful work and wise diplomacy in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility and maintaining the highest standards of CSR . NLCIL was selected for the Excellence Award  by the judging panel for having CSR practices embedded at the company’s core  motto “Creating Wealth for Well Being” and for the organization’s ongoing dedication to community engagement and responsible business practices. Dr S K Acharya CMD, NLCIL & Rakesh Kumar, Director (Finance) , R Vikraman, Director (HR) received the award from Moshpa Tangaraja, President, Malasian Occupational & Safety and Health practitioners ,Malasia, Manoj Tiwari ,Member of Parliament ,New Delhi , Kuldeep Singh ,Chief of Apex Foundation and P K Saigal, Defence Expert at the  gala of  The Apex India Excellence Awards  2017  Ceremony. In the same function Dr Acharya, CMD, NLCIL has been honoured with “The Apex India CSR Icon of the Year Award 2017”    in recognition of his decades of dedication, innovation, careful work and wise diplomacy in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility and maintaining the highest standards of CSR. NLCIL has drawn up a CSR narrative which encompasses the entire gamut of socio economic development.   New schemes have been formulated for the betterment and well being of the people living mostly in peripheral areas/States where NLCIL has its operational presence. It has introduced innovative schemes like – JAL PARYAPTH under which water augmentation activities are taken up by de-silting and improving storage positions of water reservoirs, lakes and ponds in and around. Through JAL DHARA Scheme, clean drinking water and buttermilk are provided to the public in the summer and Water Purifier RO Plants are installed in heritage and pilgrimage sites. NLCIL  has introduced JAL UDAY Scheme, under which Water Harvesting including  construction of Check dams, aquaculture and planting of trees have been taken up with a view to improve the biosphere, water recycling and to promote biodiversity. NLC India runs ‘Anandam’ a shelter for elderly people with active participation from its employees. Dr Acharya has been instrumental for all above innovative schemes, who has drawn up CSR narrative by encompassing the entire gamut of socio economic development for betterment and well being of the people living mostly in peripheral areas/States where NLCIL has its operational presence.
