NLC India and C-DAC join hands to advance green digital infrastructure UPDATED

NLC India Limited (NLCIL), a leading Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Coal, has entered into a strategic partnership with the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) through its wholly-owned green energy subsidiary, NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), to explore opportunities in green digital infrastructure and advanced computing technologies.

The MoU was exchanged during SemiCon India 2026 in New Delhi between Ramachandra Parashar, Director, NIRL, and Dr S D Sudarsan, Executive Director, C-DAC, in the presence of Amitesh Kumar Sinha, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), and R P S Sisodia, Director (Planning & Projects), NLCIL.

The partnership will combine NIRL’s expertise in renewable energy, including solar, wind and energy storage, with C-DAC’s capabilities in advanced computing and digital technologies. The collaboration will explore technology support for renewable energy-powered data centres to promote sustainable and energy-efficient digital infrastructure. It will also encourage joint initiatives in High-Performance Computing, Artificial Intelligence and Quantum Computing.

The initiative supports India’s vision of a secure, sustainable and technology-driven digital ecosystem and contributes to Digital India and Atmanirbhar Bharat. Through the partnership, NLCIL and NIRL aim to expand renewable energy opportunities and support India’s transition towards a greener and smarter digital future.
