The Management of NLC India Limited (NLC) under the leadership of Rakesh Kumar as Chairman-cum-Managing Director has come in for a lot of criticism after it failed to ensure the safety and security of workers in its plant. Two incidents of explosion raised concerns about the safety of employees and workers in the plant. The Management did not learn lessons from the first incident in May. According to sources, six workers have been killed after a boiler explosion at the plant of NLC in May. Now, six contractual workers were killed and 16 others suffered burn injuries in a boiler explosion at NLC India Ltd’s thermal plant in Tamil Nadu’s Cuddalore district in July this year.
