NLCIL aims to build a resilient, diversified energy enterprise, says CMD at AGM

The 70th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of NLC India Limited was held on 29 September at the Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Hall through Video Conferencing (VC).

The meeting was presided over by Dr. Prasanna Kumar Acharya, CMD & Director (Finance) Addl. Charge. Board Members including Dr. Suresh Chandra Suman, Director (Mines) (through VC), Samir Swarup, Director (Human Resource) & (Power) Addl. Charge, Rajesh Pratap Singh Sisodia, Director (Planning & Projects), Anil Meshram, Government Nominee Director (through VC), Gopal Singh, Government Nominee Director (through VC), Pradeep Nayan, Presidential Nominee (Ministry of Coal) (through VC), Poonam Chandrakar and Sushanta Kumar Panda, Company Secretary, participated.

Dr. Acharya, CMD, NLCIL, outlined the company’s financial and operational performance, expansion plans and future growth strategy under the theme “From Resources to Resilience.” NLCIL reported a consolidated Profit Before Tax (PBT) of ₹3,875 crore and an all-time high Profit After Tax (PAT) of ₹3,769 crore for FY 2025-26, registering growth of 4.84% and 38.91%, respectively. Revenue from operations rose to ₹17,490 crore, while EBITDA reached a record ₹7,475 crore. Capital expenditure stood at a record ₹9,131 crore, and net worth increased 14.96% to ₹21,525 crore.

The company announced a total dividend payout of 38.5%, amounting to ₹533.86 crore, including the 36% interim dividend.

Coal production from Talabira-II & III OCP reached an all-time high of 19.14 MT, with dispatch at 17.69 MT. Green energy generation also touched a record 2.26 billion units.

Key milestones included starting coal production at Pachwara South Coal Mine, full commercial operation of all three 660 MW units at NUPPL Ghatampur and expanding the renewable portfolio to 1,785 MW.

Looking ahead, NLCIL aims to achieve 20 GW power capacity and over 100 MTPA mining capacity under Vision 2047, supported by renewable energy, battery storage, green hydrogen and diversification into critical minerals.
