No adverse effect on morale of civil servants from lateral recruitments: Govt

Some prominent persons have been appointed earlier also on lateral entry basis to man specific assignments from time to time in the Central Government. This includes among others, appointment of Dr Manmohan Singh, Dr Montek Singh Ahluwalia,  Vijay Kelkar,  Bimal Jalan,  Shankar Acharya,  Rakesh Mohan,  Arvind Virmani,  Arvind Panagariya,  Arvind Subramanian and  Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha,  Parameswaran Iyer and Ram Vinay Shahi. No adverse effect on the morale of the civil servants has resulted from lateral recruitments , the Central Government has informed.
