No proposal to appoint serving IAS officer as Member (Personnel), Prasar Bharati

The Central Government has informed that presently there is no proposal under consideration in Information & Broadcasting Ministry to appoint a serving IAS officer as Member (Personnel) on the Board of Prasar Bharati. In the past, retired officer of Indian Administrative Service has been appointed as Member (Personnel). The Prasar Bharati (BCI) Act, 1990, Member (Personnel) does not bar officers of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) for appointment as Member (Personnel) on the Prasar Bharati Board.
