It is over a decade now that regular appointment for the post of Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) could not be carried out for one or other reason. The interview which was to be held by UPSC was postponed at the 11th hour. The experts and candidates were informed about cancellation of interviews after they reached UPSC office. The additional charge of DCGI is also due to expire on May 11, 2019.
