There have not been sufficient nominations of IPS officers for deputation every year from States/Cadres for filling up the vacancies at different levels from SP to DGP in various Central Police Organisations and Central Armed Police Forces. According to Ministry of Home affairs, 40% of senior Duty Posts in each cadre are earmarked as Central Deputation Reserve (CDR) posts and it is necessary to ensure a satisfactory utilization of CDR by proper movement of officers from the point of view of suitable cadre management.
