NPS Diwas celebrates reforms and transformation in pension system UPDATED

NPS Diwas 2026 commenced with a ceremonial lamp lighting, marking a day dedicated to highlighting the reforms, milestones and transformative journey of the National Pension System (NPS).

The inaugural session featured a welcome address by S. Ramann, Chairperson, PFRDA, followed by an address by Dr. V. Anantha Nageswaran, Chief Economic Adviser to the Government of India. Sanjay Lohia, Secretary, Department of Financial Services, delivered the keynote address.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Randip Jagpal, Whole Time Member (Law), PFRDA. The event brought together distinguished stakeholders and voices from across the pension ecosystem to reflect on the progress made so far and discuss the way forward for India’s pension system.
