NRC exercise is an unprecedented achievement of the present government .It has no parallel in scale, size and complexity. It is a legal process and monitored by the Supreme Court of India .Nearly 6.5 cr documents had to be verified most of them belonging to Assam , but also from Central and state governments who extended their full support in timely submitting the results barring few states.According to Sailesh Registrar General & Census Commissioner, India, West Bengal has been one state where largest number 1.2 lakh documents were sent but results of only around 15000 were received by NRC authorities, despite repeated follow up was made and assistance provided as an exception by the Registrar General .
